Patrice Newman, Associate

Originally from British Columbia, Patrice Newman studied Western History and Philosophy in her undergraduate years at the University of Alberta. Patrice was then awarded an Advanced Education scholarship and earned early acceptance into Law School to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. Once she earned her degree, Patrice and her family came home to beautiful British Columbia where she articled, and was called to the Bar in 2003.

Law is a second career for Patrice. Before returning to University, Patrice managed her own retail and design business. This background, coupled with her growing legal experience, gives Patrice an edge in communications as well as an understanding that her clients' legal problems must often be resolved with the bottom line in mind. Patrice has strong Court experience and practices civil litigation; and in particular, personal injury (focusing on motor vehicle claims), estate and trusts, employment, and contract disputes. Patrice also drafts wills.

Patrice participates in the Victoria legal community and was cast in the annual Kaleidoscope Lawyers on Stage production. In her local community, she assists her husband with the coaching of their son's soccer team. In her spare time, Patrice enjoys creative pursuits including painting, gardening, and decorating. Her favorite weekend includes a hike in one of Greater Victoria's beautiful parks, followed by cooking a lovely dinner accompanied by friends, family and good wine. Patrice is a member of the Trial Lawyer's Association of British Columbia.
