Heather Fisher
Heather is originally from New Brunswick, gradually making her way west to Victoria, with stops en route to complete an undergraduate degree in music at the University of Toronto and a master's degree in music at the University of British Columbia. After a short visit, Heather decided to make Victoria her new home and in 1990 joined the Victoria Symphony as second bassoon. From 1992 to 1994 Heather served on the Victoria Symphony Board of Directors and through her involvement as the musicians' representative in contract negotiations and work place disputes developed an interest in law. Subsequently Heather began pursuing legal studies, while continuing to perform with the Symphony and teach at the University of Victoria School of Music.
Heather received her law degree from the University of Victoria in 2001 and was called to the Bar in September 2002 after completing articles with Horne Coupar. While in law school Heather was proud to receive the Scotia Trust - Donovan & Maryla Waters Award in Trusts and Estate Planning.
Since joining Horne Coupar, Heather has developed a keen interest in civil litigation in the areas of contested estates and contractual disputes. When time allows, however, one may still find Heather on the concert stage performing with many Victoria music ensembles, including the Palm Court Symphony Orchestra. Heather is enjoying the multifaceted challenges of a legal career and is blessed to have a supportive husband Peter and two teenage daughters.
